Make sure the guitar you choose is set up properly to eliminate uncertainty as to if it’s you or the instrument that isn’t performing. No matter how well crafted the parts of the guitar are, if it’s not setup to play its best it wont be its best and you won’t sound your best. An expensive guitar is not always properly setup and the larger retail stores don’t have the time or man power to setup every guitar that comes into inventory. Sure they offer a free setup when you buy it and believe me when I say you’ll get what you pay for, or in this case, don’t.
Get the measurements.

A good setup will include using tools to measure gaps, so what are the measurments? I believe a good setup should include a record of these to go with the guitar. That way you can fine tune them to your liking. If you don’t measure and record you won’t know what changed.
